Let Me Correct Myself..

A few posts back I mentioned that I didn’t want Lowe unless we couldn’t get Ollie.

Well.. I have changed my mind since December 17th, I want Lowe & Ollie. I’ve wanted them both for about a week and a half now, and if Omar does this.. I WILL LOVE HIM FOREVER.

Not just because we would have a killer rotation, but because we now have a consistent pitcher behind Santana and we have a young lefty in Ollie who yes, may be inconsistent at times, but can pitch a gem, is going into his prime years and has shown great improvement since he began to work with new pitching coach Dan Warthen.

Oh! One more thing, we also have a sweet 1-2 punch in JJ & K-Rod… Man, I can’t wait for this season to start.

Santana May Not Pitch In WBC

Johan Santana, the Mets’ ace, may not pitch in the World Baseball Classic this year. Coming off a minor knee surgery, The Mets feel it would be better for Johan to not disrupt his normal preparation before opening day.

“He should be OK, but we’re going to be conservative,” Minaya said. “If we have a little bit of doubt or concern, we’d rather have him not play. We’re pro-Classic, but we always have to be mindful and protective of our players.” –   Source:  Ben Shpigel/New York Times

That said, I think it’s a good move on Omar’s part to talk to Johan and advise him to keep away from the Baseball Classic this year. Even though it was a minor operation,it’s still an operation and the more precautions you take the less likely it’ll be that he will get hurt and miss out part or most of the season.

Santana pitched for Venezuela in the first WBC in ‘06.

WTF?!?!?

Dear Yankees,
STOP BEING ASSHOLES!!

The wonderful & marvelous class-act yankees have signed 1st baseman “hitting extraordinaire” Mark  Texeira for 8 years, $180 million. WHY THE FRIKIN HELL IS MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL ALLOWING THESE DOUCHE BAGS TO SPEND MILLIONS ON 3 DAMN PLAYERS with NYC money?? Taxpayer money. Money people work for, and that soon I will too.

It’s ridiculous.

Within a week, the yankees have spent :

  • CC (yeah, no dots screw what he says): 7 years, 161 mil.
  • AJ (I’m gonna break down just wait & see) 5 years, 82.5 mil
  • Mark (I’m overrated) 8 years, 180 mil.

_______________________________________________________________

Total :  $423,500,000 on 3 men.

*Not to mention other smaller signings they’ve made increase this total.

I understand, some of you will say, yeah well if the Mets had that much they’d spend like us too.

Um … We have a lot of money, but you dont see us giving it away in HUGE amounts to every star player that’s available.

Major League Baseball NEEDS to put a salary cap because it’s simple getting out of hand. There are people out there freezing to death, with no food, no homes, no clothes..nothing, and baseball players are getting huge amounts of money to hit a ball and get a guy out.

With all that money the yankees get yearly they should give more to the community, because it’s never enough, and help those that truly need it out, not give it away like it grows on trees because you want every star player out there.

To Go Along With Funny-Name Mr.Putz, Lets Get Pudge!

Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez has supposedly been wanting to be a Met since the ‘04 season when Omar became our GM. The two have a relationship that goes back about 20 years from their time in the Texas Rangers organization together.

We need a type a player like Pudge, here are a few good attributes:

  • He’s a veteran (36 y.o)
  • He’s gritty
  • He’s a leader
  • He wants to be here
  • He’s a catcher
  • Has 2 rings and is a 14-time All-Star & Has been an AL MVP

Point is…. He’s badASS!

Sure, he hit .214 with the Yanks in the second half of last season, but he’s playing Winter ball for the first time in 10 years and has been doing okay.

Our offense can make up for any lack of hitting he does, but everything else he could bring to the Mets would be sweet.

I want to see that same scenario that’s in that picture up there but with him in orange & blue.

J.J. Putz It On

Can’t deny it, the man looks good in orange & blue.
The orange NYM logo even matches his awesome soul patch.

I’ll Make This Short & Sweet.. (cuz i’m tired and don’t feel like typing)

Unless we CAN’ T get him …

I DON’T want him…

We Got Em’!!!!!

Ollie Declines Arbitration

Oliver Perez has officially declined arbitration the Mets offered. It was kind of obvious but I was somewhat hoping that he didn’t decline. I like Ollie. And sure he had some bad starts, but he also had some REALLY REALLY good ones, and that to me offsets his bad ones. Besides, he’s entering his pitching prime years, and whatever Warthen was doing with him was working.

Here are his stats from the 2008 season.

ERA : 4.22 WHIP: 1.40 SO: 180 W/L: 10-7

Sure he ranked first in the league with walks, 105 to be exact, but there’s something about him I really like.

I hope the Mets can sign him again but I’d be careful with the years.

WTF??

This past season while watching my lovely Mets kick-ass on SNY, a certain little person in a certain little commercial would come up at least 4 times through out the commercial break – Derek frikin’ Jeter.
HEY ASSHOLE! Stay away from my TV! Especially SNY – DURING! a game. I mean seriously.

If not, I’m gonna have to hurt you with my karate skills…and you’ll look a lot worse than you do in that picture up there.

It was something about Ford i think. Jeters’ Ford challenge.

Screw you Ford.
And screw you Jeter.

:]

Peace.
