Around The League..

February 3, 2009

Here’s a few things on what’s going on with the market right now.

  • The Dodgers last night made a second offer to Manny Ramirez of $25 mil. for 1 yr. which he rejected a few hours into the 48 hour deadline they had accompanied the offer with. Their previous offer had been 2 yrs. $45 mil. I won’t even say anything.
  • The Orioles signed former Met Ty Wigginton to a two-year $6 mil. deal.
  • The Chicago White Sox have offered OF Bobby Abreu, whom by the way has been briefly linked to the Mets, a 1 yr./$8 mil. deal.
  • The Washington Nationals a while ago offered Adam Dunn, whom just like Abreu was briefly linked to the Mets, an undisclosed deal but are still waiting on him to respond. Heyman says the Nats are desperate for a power hitter but it seems clear Washington isn’t Dunn’s first choice.
