Tidbits: John Maine, Fernando Martinez

January 16, 2010

I’m not even going to bother writing a piece on all that’s transpired with Beltran and the Mets during the past few days. I find the whole thing embarrassing and downright despicable.

On to the TidBits!

  • John Maine avoided arbitration by signing a 1 year $3.3 mil. deal with $225,000 in performance bonuses based on starts. – Metsblog/SI
  • Fernando Martinez has picked up the slack over in D.R; Fernando Martinez laced three hits and is playing much better in these playoffs than he did during the regular season, hitting .286.  The Mets will need another outfielder next year before the season is out because of injury or poor play and Fernando would like to show that last year’s poor showing was a fluke.” – My World Of Baseball
